Notes

Sometime in August since the last time I was at Billingsley, the hatchery owner created a new mini-dam spillway thing. I started off there while Karl went down to the pipe. I nymphed with a 3' or 4' dropper and after fishing for awhile I finally hooked a nice-fighting 10" fish. A couple casts later I landed another 10" rainbow. After that I fished the pool up above the spillway and caught 1 6" trout. Standing at the spillway I then nymphed the main hole downstream-style and really got into the fish. I caught a couple 12" rainbows, then hooked a fish that was well over 16". He jumped once and was off. A couple casts later I hooked and landed the 14" rainbow that fought like a monster. I had a few other fish on.

About 1/2 hour before dark I walked downstream to the pipe and downstream-nymphed with Karl on the pipe. I hooked into carp after carp after carp. I did catch the 13" rainbow there. Streamer fishing yeilded only 1 8" rainbow. Karl caught 0.
