Notes
Great Day at Settles today boys! Man, the first fish was a BIGGIE! He broke me off after a couple of jumps and several runs...2 guys fishing below heard the zing off of my Abel reel. I knew it was going to be a good day. I worked the far seem at my normal honey hole, lately been catching lots of fish but mostly small stuff, 6-10 inches. Today, the big boys were back...I caught 3 fish that had to go 14" or better and several BIG ones broke me off...everything was hitting my "purple nurple" emerger. i had an olive nymph with red bead on front (size 20) and they didn't hit it once, they loved the trailing emerger though. The fly had a Z-Lon Shuck, a purple ise crystal flash body (wrapped around hook) and a blue crystal flash wing. I was hooking fish on nearly every cast, I probably hooked up with 25 today, landed about 15 (fricken barbless hooks)...I had severl fish run right at me and the barbless hook would just fall out when the line went slack.
GREAT DAY!
