first ice---2 1/2 inches thick....scary!!!. glad to get out though. just take time and think it thru and don't get crazy. worked my way from bank to about half way to island, and found the deep water 7 foot. was too cold at that point to stay long, but learned alot from the trip. that is the key....learn all you can each trip. was first trip out . love it.
