Notes
I tried fly fishing with a bobber off Picnic Point and had zero luck. I actually fished for a few different short periods both Saturday and Sunday, and never did I see any fish cruising along shore. I also didn't see any rises in the morning when the lake was calm. I took the shore temperature Saturday morning and the water was 72 degrees. So the trout are definitely farther out and hanging deeper to stay cool.
A handful of people fished picnic point with bait Saturday and Sunday morning, and did okay. I think their key was they were casting out quite a ways, and fishing their bait a foot or two off the bottom.
Phil tried bait and spin fishing as well off Picnic Point, but he didn't have any luck.
