Notes

We traveled up to Stanley then thru Ketchum to see the aspens and fall colors. The aspens are so yellow they almost hurt to look at they're so bright.

We stopped at the Big Wood more to check it out than fish but decided to toss a few flies and see if anything was hitting. Alot of people out and was a little difficult to find a spot mostly because there are limited access points and the water was low and narrow in the area. But it was also our first time there so we didn't know accesses, etc.

The water was gin-clear and very cold. We forged the creek a couple of times using our wading sandals and our feet would cramp in crossing just ~10-20 feet of creek.

Lisa was the primary fisher. I tossed once and hooked the 9 incher. Lisa missed ~ 4-5 jerking on the hits. We fished the pools and runs into them. We were really surprised at the 13 incher Lisa pulled from the head of a small pool she had tried ~ 1/2 hour before.

Nice fish, beautiful small water, amazing scenery.

BTW - Rico's Pizza and Pasta in Ketchum has the BEST pizza. You can't beat sitting outside on the porch after experiencing the scenery and fishing with good food and glass of excellent red wine.
