Notes

USGS 13295000 VALLEY CREEK AT STANLEY ID
After the last time and the big fish I caught, decided to try hiking up the creek and try my luck. Hiked in ~ 2 miles - easy, flat hike.
River is nice but pretty shallow all the way up to where I started. Seems the bigger fish congregate in the deep holes and runs but unfortunately, there really aren't none for the first few miles except that big one at Beaver Creek confluence . That's where I caught those nice Cutts and big Bull.
Fishing was easy once you hit the river (that was the hard part in places). Used just my neo socks and sandals. Water rarely above my knees. Lot of burned areas back there and downed trees - making river access sometimes difficult.
Fishing was easy - tons of aggressive brookies but little fish of substance. Biggest fish I caught was from trial bridge casting into a small pool.
Nice place to take a novice - lots of easy fish, pretty views, easy hike.
Maybe better farther?
