Notes

This was one of those days a guy never forgets. I was using my DD-22 and had just caught one 17.5" in about 16' of water when I hooked into another. This one however was a hog.

I got it to the boat and didn't have my net and was by myself. I stared for two minutes at it not knowing how to get it in the boat. I used my hand to guide the line closer to the boat as I was about to make a move to "belly" the fish into the boat. That's when she put up her best fight, lunging forward and breaking my line. To make things worse, she just sat there not knowing she'd was free.

The ultimate "fish that got away" story. I have always wanted to catch the lake record to prove that ordinary folks don't need fancy equipment and a lot of money to catch big fish. I guess I'll have to wait to show everyone that's actually true.
