Notes

I hooked that Palomino again today. I got him on the Rebel Crawdad, but after about 4-5 head shakes, he threw the hook. The fish started hammering at my Crawdad and Rooster Tails after noon, but they would just grab it and let go. I think minnows would be a good bet for the rest of the afternoon and evening. The smallest Rainbow I caught all day was about 9" and the nicest looking fish. It had lots of yellow through the belly up into the sides and still had parr marks. I thought it was a big native Brook at first, then thought a holdover, but it was a fresh stocked fish. For just being stocked, Chest Creek wasn't showing much today, not has it all season. For the most part it was a slow day, but that one little native made the day. I went about 15 years without catching a native in Chest Creek and now catch two in one week.
