Notes
Started at the usual Alsea first stop. Water was lower than winter, but a little high because of recent rains in the mountains. No action there. Moved up to the Big Hole and missed a good fish but not much other action. Went up five rivers to the falls and missed a small fish. Then worked down five rivers (have a few great salmon spots scouted now for winter) and caught a couple of small ones on good old "Steelhead by Bud" #4 in gold. Caught another on a silver Mepps with a white bucktail. (all released). Then moved downstream a bit and waded for 200 yards or so working downriver. Caught a number of smaller rainbows (all released) and got nice and wet and dirty. Finished off back at the usual Alsea first stop and waded a little out toward the main current to get to the best spot. Missed a good fish and got soaked. Lots of fun though.
