Notes

The section of Chest Creek I was fishing was stocked today around 1pm. The water was cold due to the run off from a foot of snow, yes a foot of snow. It was also higher and faster than it has been, but still at a fairly typical level for this time of year. The first fish I caught was a nice thirteen inch Rainbow, and it surprised me. It was a freshly stocked fish and much thicker than the stocked fish tend to be. This trend continued through the rest of the Rainbows also. The smallest fish I caught was a ten inch Rainbow and even it was a nice thick fish. I have been happy with the size of the stocked fish this year, with the average seeming to be around twelve inches. That combined with the hold over fish should make for some really good fishing this year.
