Notes

Took Bryce to OsLa for his first float tube adventure. He did well, landing 10 or so including a 16" golden.

No single fly really tore it up today with the possible exception of Bryce's red 'cone early in the day. He also had decent action for a short time on a size 18 CJ later in the day. I fished a red 'cone at similar depth to Bryce but only got couple rainbows. We lost an unbelievable number of fish today though, probably a 5:1 ratio of lost to landed.

Saw a fair number of light gray adult mayflies on the water at times and also a single white sulfur. Hopefully the white sulfurs show up soon in numbers similar to last year. In addition there were the usual bomber midges and smaller midges too.

Towards the end of the day the fish were rising more frequently but I could not tell what they were taking. I tried a couple adult patterns that matched the light gray naturals but without success. I did get several fish on the PT fished 1-2' below the adult though. I also tried a couple different orange wing bomber midge emergers, since last week I had 5 goldens take my flourescent orange strike indicator under water. But those patterns got no love either.
