Notes

I walked back to the NW corner and saw several cruising fish. I rigged up with a #14 hare's ear, #20 black brassie and #20 zebra brassie. After several casts and slow retrieves I had a very solid hit from a nice fish that instantly snapped all 3 flies off. I'm not positive which fly the fish hit. I re-rigged and had no success. I moved to the opposite side of the peninsula and saw a couple cruising trout in the shallows. I had one trout swirl after the fly but not strike it. I moved to the point and switched flies to a #14 hare's ear, #16 zebra brassie, and #14 banded midge. I had a hit on one slow retrieve and on another, I saw a trout get excited by the flies as they got close to shore, then he hit either the zebra brassie or banded midge about 8' out and instantly broke off the flies. I fished with other flies after that but did not catch anything or get any more hits.

Hatch: small brown midges, small tan midges, damselflies, a few #12 light tan caddis
