Notes

The fish have begun to calm down after the flow increase and have become more cautious on the surface. Unlike last week where the fish were not dialed into any specific hatches and were opportunistically attacking attractors that came by, this week they were targeting PMD's on a fairly consistent basis.

I started out with my go-to fly and prospected with no luck. When I got to the snags thee were three fish working that wanted nothing to do with the Para-Wulff. After watching them for a minute I noticed a natural coming toward Jared and told him to grab it. When I look at it I'm somewhat suprised to see about a size 14 PMD. It seems about a month early for these guys to be out and even when they are hatching I can still drill fish on the Para-Wulff. Anyway, I throw one on and first cast a nice sized head sips it. A decent 17 inch bow with arguably the best spotting and color I've seen on any fish in the river.

As the day went on, the fishing kind of sputtered with an occasional hook up here and there but overall fairly slow. The double tree hole produced one small fish (14 in) which was kind of disappointing. We ended the day at the cave hole with no fished touched. Afterward, we sat up on the road and drank and smoked every beer and cigarette we had due to the excellent weather and company.

I'm hoping the fish and weather will cooperate next weekend when Brian and I go camping for the first time this year. Gonna be a shit show!
