Notes

MCB, TMM, & BD:

The air temperature this morning was about 45 degrees and rain wasn't predicted until late this afternoon, so I thought I would give Standing Stone a try this morning. I walked back Sonny's lane until I was fairly far past the last old cabin on that lane. I thought it would be good to fish that back section which probably didn't get as much pressure over the weekend.

Apparently I outsmarted myself, because I fished for two hours and didn't catch a fish, in fact I don't think I had an honest hit during those two hours. In the third hour when I was above Sonny's place I finally caught two brown trout. Both of them were 12 inch trout, but it's amazing how colorless stocked brown trout are compared to the wild trout that I usually catch on Spring and the LJ. I really thought I was going to have a better day than I did, but who knew.

I passed a guy who was spin fishing bait, he was heading downstream and I was heading upstream. I talked to him for a couple of minutes and he said that he was fishing for about two hours also and didn't catch a fish. I'm not sure what that means, but apprently I wasn't the only one not having much luck this morning. The water was high, fast, and cloudy, but I normally like cloudy water and usually do well if it's cloudy. I can't remember the last time that I fished Stone Creek for three hours and only caught two fish. Boo, Hoo!
